Comparisons of the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation and functional connectivity in major depressive disorder and social anxiety disorder: A resting-state fMRI study

Summary

The research team led by Project Researcher Junbing He, Prof. Yoshiyuki Hirano and Prof. Eiji Shimizu (Chiba University) demonstrate that major depressive disorder (MDD) and social anxiety disorder (SAD) show both common and distinct patterns of aberrant brain function at regional and network levels.

This result will help us understand the neural mechanisms underlying mood disorders and provide information for developing new therapeutic strategies.
