A Position Paper titled “International data governance for neuroscience”, authored by the Data Governance White paper Task Force of the IBI Data Standards and Sharing Working Group, has been published in Neuron. Prof. Takashi Hanakawa, a participant of the Brain/MINDS Beyond, is one of the authors. In this article, the authors consider how to approach data governance in a way that balances data protection requirements and the need for open science so as to promote international collaboration, through federated constructs such as the International Brain Initiative (IBI).
