Visualizing non-human primate connectome

Summary

The international research group of Takuya Hayashi, a team leader, and Joonas Autio, a researcher, in Laboratory of Brain Connectomics Imaging, RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research  and others have a developed non-invasive high-quality brain imaging system using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) useful for understanding functions, structure, and connectivity (connectome) of cerebral cortex and  subcortical structures. This achievement is expected to contribute to understand the principle of brain systems, inter-species homology and mechanism of neuropsychiatric diseases.
